STORYBOARD | ANIMATIC

An animatic created as a storyboard and directing exercise, reinterpreting the classic Pokémon Game Boy battle screen into a more cinematic and dynamic version.

The sequence features Pikachu and Poliwrath facing each other in a battle that maintains the iconic visual setup of the original games, while exploring new possibilities through camera movement, timing, and staging.

For this project, I worked on the storyboard development, shot direction, and animatic production, aiming to transform a familiar scenario into a more engaging animated sequence.

POKEMON BATTLE

SPIDER-MAN

L’histoire d’un héros

This sequence shows Harry Osborn escaping from Flash. Although the action was described in a rather simple and straightforward way in the script, with this animatic I wanted to make the scene more dynamic through directing and staging choices, placing greater emphasis on the rhythm and impact of the chase..

Spider-Man: L’histoire d’un héros (created by Miles Morales) is an animated series I am currently working on. Within the project, I am responsible for creating the storyboards and animatics, developing the sequences from the initial visual ideas to the definition of their rhythm and timing.

Throughout the process, I also contribute to the direction of the scenes, enriching the sequences through my own choices in framing, composition, and camera movement, with the goal of enhancing the storytelling and emotional impact of each moment.

To enhance the sequence, I introduced graphic elements inspired by comic book language, such as onomatopoeia and visual effects, integrating them into the action to emphasize speed, movement, and key moments of the scene.

These additions allowed me to give the sequence a stronger visual identity, transforming a simple scene into a more energetic and engaging moment while still remaining faithful to the original narrative intent.

This sequence shows Spider-Man meeting Yuri, while she and the police officers are searching for Vulture in an area of the city. The scene focuses on their conversation, with Peter trying to understand if he can help before deciding to continue the search on his own.

The original sequence was very simple and linear, so in the animatic I aimed to make it more dynamic through directing and staging
choices. Due to the limited budget, some parts use recycled animation cycles and held poses to optimize the production process.

I added more rhythm to the scene by focusing on the introduction, with a camera movement from the top of a building down toward the police area, Spider-Man’s arrival among the officers, and his departure as he continues his search for Vulture.

Following Uncle Ben's death, Gwen Stacy visits Aunt May to offer her comfort during a time of profound grief. The sequence focuses on subtle character acting and moments of silence, emphasizing the emotional weight of their conversation.

Due to the project's limited budget, the scene had to be conveyed with a reduced number of storyboard panels. This required careful shot selection and visual storytelling to preserve the emotional impact while working within the production constraints.
